It
is hard to describe the brightness of a light. As some indication
note the folowing.....
- bright enough to easily read (for hours)
in total darkness
- painful to look at directly - not recommended.
-
bright enough to work on your bike at night, or find your way
to the bathroom in a wildnerness campsite at four in the morning
-
will illuminate objects over 30 feet away
The
following photos were taken using a digital camera (Canon A70)
in total darkness with just the flashlight for illumination.
The pictures are not edited in any way.
The
first is a couple of pages from a workshop manual with the light
about 6 feet away.

This one shows the beam spread. Almost the entire yardstick is
illuminated (pretty evenly) from about 8 feet away

This is a painting of "The Lady of Shalott" by J.W.
Waterhouse - illuminated by this flashlight- just because it's
a nice painting.

Remember,
these were taken with an ordinary digital camera with no manipulation
or editing of the picture.
